Last night, I had the privilege of catching the premier of Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon in 3D, and let me tell you, it was awesome!
It was a packed house, to the point that several fans had to be turned away from the event. As we all know, this one is directed by Michael Bay, so it’s chock full of special effects and explosions, and the fight sequences are epic. The movie follows post-graduate, Sam Witwicky (LeBeouf) and his new girlfriend Carly, played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, through a new adventure filled with new friends and enemies as well as some of the classics. Some of the old faces from the cast are still around, Lennox, Epps, and Ma & Pa Witwicky, but additions such as John Malkovich (Red, Being John Malkovich, Con Air), Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy, Enchanted, Valentine’s Day) and Alan Tudyk (Knight’s Tale, 3:10 To Yuma, Knocked Up, Firefly [TV Series], Serenity) round out the cast in interesting and often comical ways. The movie keeps the audience entertained and doesn’t give the plot twists away until it’s time. I sat toward the back of the theater, in order to achieve optimum viewing, which I highly recommend if you’re watching it in 3D, and throughout the movie, the entire room filled with applause and laughter multiple times during the feature. I don’t want to give anything away, but wait until you see the final battle, that’s all I’m saying. Enjoy!
