First off, I’d like to publicly announce my disappointment in 100.5′s lack of professionalism. I understand your “entertainment” needs, however entertaining ignorant people at the cost of others is unacceptable. Your lack of sensitivity towards people in pain or suffering from mental illness absolutely sickens me. Moments ago, I listened to an announcer unnecessarily provide her personal input about a person who clearly was in pain and suffering. She was referring to the following story, and towards the end called the man a “nut job”. Millions of people are affected by suicide daily – whether they suffer from depression or know a loved one who suffers. If any of you have ever lost someone to suicide, your empathy would be expected. I am sorry for the, as the announcer stated, “chaos and shutting the schools down” in Ohio. Those people lived. I am even more sorry for the ignorance your staff shows and even more so, the lack of sensitivity displayed for people who are clearly suffering from depression or mental illness.

It’s Dana, I am the one who made those statements. I do not have an ounce of sympathy for that man. His “sufferring from depression” does not excuse his actions. He had already been accused of not properly caring for the animals. He was in trouble with the law for a number of different things. The wild animals were innocent and were let out of their cages with MALICIOUS INTENT, so yes, in my opinion, the guy was a nut job. Would I have sympathy for a person who killed himself out of desperation without attempting to harm anyone or anything else – sure… But people who want to hurt others or innocent creatures because of their own pain… yeah that’s crazy!
