Simon told Barbara Walters that:

“I mean, the truth was, on the first two seasons, we couldn’t travel on the same plane together. We really disliked each other that much.”

So what changed? Simon (worth over 300 million dollars) said that Paula wanted a relationship with him:

“I think it was sexual tension… on her part. A million percent.”

So why didn’t he want want to pursue the relationship? He didn’t want to deal with the aftermath on the set:

“I considered it, but then I thought, ‘I don’t think the after would be as good as the before.’ I’d let her stay for a few hours, but then it would have to be goodnight.”
