Birthday surprises are always fun, except when they involve a strange man breaking onto your property with the intent of going into your home…That’s what happened to Taylor Swift on her birthday earlier this month.
As previously reported, 24-year-old Jacob Kulke decided he needed to be with Swift on her 23rd birthday, which makes sense since he also claimed the two were dating…though no one knew this, of course.
Kulke traveled by bus from Marshfield, Wisconsin to Nashville, Tennessee and finally arrived at Swift’s home in the middle of the night. After climbing the fence, he was detained by Swift’s security and police arrived shortly after.
Kulke was initially booked on several charges, but E News learned prosecutors have decided not to press charges against the super fan for the unwelcomed entry, but charges still could be brought against him within the statutes of limitations.
Kulke’s attorney, Sean McKinney, maintains his client’s innocence, saying Kulke was invited to the home. As part of his argument to have Kulke’s charges dropped, he also noted there were no “No Trespassing” signs posted and that guards allegedly told him he was welcome.
Regardless if he was invited or not or if signs were posted, ultimately, Swift’s camp decided they didn’t want to waste taxpayers’ money on the case since Swift wasn’t home at the time of the incident anyway.
Kulke is “delighted’ with the outcome according to his attorney, but he will remain in jail on separate charges as he faces possible extradition to Colorado for a probation violation.
