A couple have been together for years, 74 years to be exact.
Leonard and Hazel Cherry, 95 and 93, were married 74 years ago. They were high-school sweethearts, and got married in 1942. They’ve been through it all, World War II, where Leonard was a B-24 pilot, raised a family, and had a grandson. They started an auto repair shop together, and sold it together to spend more time with their family.
Leonard’s health had been deteriorating, so he went into hospice care. Just a couple days later, at 1pm, he died in the nursing home. Hazel, who was in good health, and even driving around town running errands as soon as two weeks ago, died just 10 hours later at 11pm.
