Nick Steinberg is a photographer based out of San Francisco, and he’s spent the past 8 years studying fog, how it works, where to see it, and how to capture it in a camera. He’s figured out a pretty good technique, and has gotten pretty good over the years at predicting how it will flow and where and when it will show up.
He captured some pretty amazing shots of the fog in San Francisco over the years as well, using a long-exposure technique, where anything with movement, such as fog rolling into the bay, becomes a really smooth and full-looking event. It just looks so silky and flow-ey as it’s rolling over the hills. Check out some of his work below, and see more here and on his Instagram.
