Children of military parents don’t always get to have a Christmas, whether one or both parents are deployed, or maybe the family is down an income because of deployment and just can’t afford to buy gifts or decorations. This man, named Rodney, has been living in a tent in the parking lot of Arden Fair mall, specifically in front of the Toys R Us and next to Cheesecake Factory.
Rodney is collecting toys for the kids of military families, so they can enjoy a little holiday cheer this year too. He’s going to be camping out for another 2 days, and you can drop off toys or gift cards, and he’ll make sure they get to the right people. He’s there 24/7 for 2 more days, and has been there 10 days already. That’s dedication!
Mark was able to get a first-hand interview with Rodney this morning between running back and forth to TV shoots and radio (he’s been doing super, hasn’t he?), and talk a bit about what he’s doing.
If you can’t make it to the location, he’s got a website set up too to accept donations.
