Famously known for her role of Princess Leia Organa in “Star Wars,” actress Carrie Fisher has died after suffering a heart attack, according to People.
The family’s spokesperson Simon Halls released the following statement this morning:
“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,” reads the statement.
Fisher was flying from London to Los Angeles on Friday, Dec. 23 when she went into cardiac arrest, and was then removed from the flight and transported to a nearby hospital where she was treated for a heart attack. She passed away at 8:55 AM this morning.
Rest in peace, Carrie! You will be missed.
