Nooooo! This is devastating. An iconic California tree believed to be more than 1,000 years old has been laid to rest. Calaveras County’s Pioneer Cabin Tree, that could once be driven through, toppled during last night’s storm, Buzzfeed reports. In recent years, the park only allowed hikers to walk through the “tunnel tree,” but that didn’t make it any less loved. I have old photographs of family members going through it! So many memories were made there. Ironically, my dad and I saw it for the 1st time together this summer. RIP.
