There’s sad news coming out of Hollywood tonight as we have learned that Miguel Ferrer has passed away.
According to Deadline and TV Line, Ferrer passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was well known for his role as NCIS Assistant Director Owen Granger on the show NCIS: Los Angeles, as well as having major roles on Twin Peaks and Crossing Jordan.
Fans of NCIS: Los Angeles will be glad to see him in some episodes of the upcoming 9th season, but series’ writers are still unsure how to wrap up his story line effectively. Showrunner R. Scott Gemmill released a statement, saying:
“Today, NCIS: Los Angeles lost a beloved family member. Miguel was a man of tremendous talent who had a powerful dramatic presence on screen, a wicked sense of humor, and a huge heart.”
Ferrer also filmed his role as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield in the Twin Peaks revival before his untimely passing, which is set to premiere on Showtime on May 21st.
