The checkout lane at the grocery store is apparently still a good way to get noticed, and that’s exactly what happened for this guy in New Zealand. A woman noticed him buying an elderly woman’s groceries in the checkout lane after her card was declined at the register (stupid chip reader, probably) and developed a quick crush.
She sneaks a picture of him (more of his back and side really), throws it onto Facebook and says:
“If anyone knows Mr #10 in the Abercrombie NZ Breakers shirt who just paid for the little old ladies groceries at Countdown Takanini. You made her day! And if you are single, I’d like to buy you a beer (better than the lion red you brought maybe?) Haha #randomactsofkindness #notallsuperheroswearcapes”
It spread pretty quickly, and after many women fell in love with him online, the guys wife chimes in, and says “Sorry ladies, he’s taken.”
The guy turned out to be Aarron Nichols (pictured here with his wife), a nice electrician who was simply paying-it-forward. He didn’t even think it was a “big deal” until he heard that he went viral. He said that someone helped him and his wife Stacey out once while they were on their honeymoon, so he just wanted to do the same for someone else. See more pictures of the guy here.
