If you laughed at that title, you aren’t alone.
A man in Massachusetts, Dennis Sayers, received a ticket for driving 40mph in a 30 zone and a $105 fine. Dennis took the ticket to court, and once on the stand Dennis questioned officer Royster Johnson if he was 100% certain that the officer recorded his vehicle’s speed, and not the speed of a deer that “could have been in the vicinity.”
Judge Peter Doyle looked at Dennis and said “You’re not contending the radar picked up the deer?” Dennis’ response? “Anything is possible.”
The fine of $105 still stands, and Dennis still has the ticket on his record.
It was worth a shot, I guess…
