Sacramento Man Dies From Tooth Infection

Infections are bad news, no matter where they occur.

Vadim Kondratyuk Anatoliyevich, a 26-year-old father of two and husband from Truckee, was complaining of a toothache before having to leave town for work. He’s a truck driver, and was heading to New York for a delivery. The toothache got so bad that he had to stop in Oklahoma and see a dentist, who was able to clean the tooth up a bit and prescribe an antibiotic.

Later on his trip, the infection was getting worse, and caused the side of his face to swell up. Vadim’s brother eventually drove across the country to pick him up and bring him back home, since Vadim felt weak and couldn’t drive. On the way back, they had to stop in Utah and check into a hospital. After a 4-day stay, and after the infection spread to his lungs, doctors couldn’t do anything more for him, and he passed away.

Some more on the story is available here. We’re wishing for the best for his wife and little girls.

Make sure you get toothaches checked out. Besides the obvious pain, they can lead to much larger problems down the line.
