Well, it’s true, with phones in everyone’s hands these days, some daycare workers have noticed that the phone sometimes even takes priority over parents’ kids.
The daycare posted this sign near the carpool pick-up line, check it out just here.
It basically tells parents to get off their phone and be happy to see their children. It gave an example of multiple times when a child was happy to see his or her parents, or wanted to show the parent some work they did that day, only for the parent to basically ignore their child and continue finishing up on their phone, whether they were texting, Facebooking, whatever.
It’s a necessary reminder that there are more important things in the world than being glued to your phone, and that a child doesn’t understand why the parent is ignoring them. I wonder if any long-term mental issues might develop as the years go on, watching your parent glued to their phone instead of playing with or communicating with you. More here.
