Do you hate wearing heels but feel like you have to for work? See which country is debating a ban on companies making women wear high heels at work…
CBSNews.com says that British lawmakers are debating on if employers should be allowed to make female workers wear high heels as part of their dress code.
It all started when a receptionist says that she was sent home from work (without pay) for wearing flat shoes to work. Her workplace responded by saying that she violated their dress code that says: “female workers must wear non-opaque tights, have hair with “no visible roots,” wear “regularly re-applied” makeup, and appear in shoes with a heel between 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 centimeters) high.”
The employee called the dress code “outdated and sexist” and started an online petition to change things.
It’s unclear how this will play out but do YOU think employees should be allowed to MAKE women wear high heels to work?
