Not just READS the mail that was addressed to the fish, but is actually reading the mail TO the fish. Emphasis on words is hard in text, people.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium has asked fans to submit mail to their fish. Any of them. They received a postcard from a child addressed to “Fish” at Monterey Bay Aquarium, and it talked about how nice the fish is/are, how some fish were scary, but this particular fish is great. It’s a sweet little note.
That postcard prompted Monterey Bay Aquarium to tweet out a picture of the card held up in front of the fish, and then they encouraged fans to send in more postcards, and they’ll be read, presumably out loud, to the fish whom they are addressed.
It’s a great way to teach young children about addressing envelopes and letters for sure (and how mail works in general), and kind of a cute idea to tell kids that the animals are being read to.
