It sounds like a game show, but it’s a real parking spot.
The deal is where the parking spot is located. It’s even listed on a luxury real estate website. In Brooklyn, on the corner of Union Street and Seventh Avenue in the lovely Park Slope neighborhood, sits a parking garage. It’s got 145 parking spots, 24/7 attendants, security, and an easy access elevator. One of those 145 spots is up for sale, for $300,000. Not a typo. Three-hundred-thousand dollars.
The last spot that sold in that garage, by the way, went for $280,000. It DID sell. The spots are listed as condos online, and you do have to prove that you can afford it before “taking delivery” of the parking spot. Insane, but when parking is tough to come by, and you get the added benefit of not having to clear snow, I guess it’s a reasonable purchase decision.
For an extra fee, yes, on top of the $300,000 to acquire the spot in the first place, you are also offered valet parking for your spot, and they’ll also hand-wash your car for you.
