Literally, with balloons and streamers.
The town of Moraga, just east of San Francisco, has a pretty large sinkhole that opened up last year. It happened March 13th after a series of storms with heavy rain ran through the area. There was funding approved for the repair process by May of last year, but there were a couple “hiccups” in the approval process though, and the repair had to be delayed.
They’re hoping to have it fixed by this Summer, but in the mean time, the sinkhole got to enjoy its first birthday, complete with a handmade sign, a bow, some streamers and a balloon that some unknown (and hand-shake deserving) local citizen provided.
