Get your mind out of the gutter, she says she only stimulated a conversation about acceptance and equality.
Katy Perry says she was raised very religious, and that both of her parents were pastors. She would go to what she called “Jesus Camps” to “pray the gay away.” But then she soon started meeting people who were different from her. She says “These people were nothing like I had been taught to fear. They were the most free, strong, kind, and inclusive people that I have ever met. They stimulated my mind, and they filled my heart with joy, and they danced with joy while doing it. These people are actually, magic, and they are magic because they are living their truth.”
Katy went on to say that that she wouldn’t have picked a different path for herself if she went back, despite going against the beliefs of her religion (and her parents, we’re sure), and that she’s basically very proud that she is supporting equality and acceptance for all, despite the rocky road to get where she is now.
