A hiker that saved an abandoned baby bear while hiking could now be facing a $6000 fine or a year in jail for interfering with wildlife.
Inside Edition recently interviewed the hiker, Corey Hancock, to ask him why he acted the way he did that day.
For his part, Hancock said:
“I didn’t have a choice, I wouldn’t have left it out there. He seemed to be abandoned and dying. He was hardly moving at first when I walked up on him. I thought he was dead.”
However, animal experts believe he was out of line for his actions as the bear can never be returned to the wild.
Watch the video above and let us know how you feel. Was Hancock right to save the bear, or should he have let nature follow it’s course?
