Yep, Justin Timberlake, multi-talented singer and actor, now can add “law change influencer” (or something along those lines) to his résumé.
Remember back to October when he was voting early, and posted that selfie while he was in the voting booth? That was illegal, and a whole lot of fuss was made over the picture. He faced 30 days in jail, and/or a $50 fine. Well, he managed to skip out on both of those things, but that doesn’t change the fact that he still broke the law. Even Jessica Biel got in on making fun of him:
Well, thanks to Mr. Timberlake breaking the law, lawmakers in Tennessee have actually looked into that law, and decided to re-write it, passing the new version last week. They ruled that pictures and video of a ballot that is completely filled out is just fine. Basically, it allows you to take selfies at your local polling station in Tennessee (unless you’re “committing voter intimidation, fraud or selling a vote”).
