We seem to report a lot of rat stories on the morning show somehow…
The incident happened at John F. Kennedy High School down in the Pocket. With the recent flooding, rats have been seen pretty commonly down there, so it was just a matter of time before one got somewhere it shouldn’t be.
Substitute teacher Veronica Luther shot the video after students were moved to another location. School officials say they “took immediate action” after they heard about the rat, sanitizing the room twice and setting a trap. The trap did capture a rat, but they’re not sure if it’s THE rat, or just another rat. Veronica said she didn’t feel comfortable coming back the next day if they didn’t get everything cleaned and sanitized, and she says that the school suggested not to come back the next day.
Again, officials say they did sanitize the room twice before letting student back in.
During the overnight, Veronica posted to her Facebook page that she was apparently removed from future substitute jobs in the district, as well.
