Sacramento Voted 2nd Ugliest City In The Nation

Wow Travel And Leisure Magazine, tell us how you REALLY feel. The magazine has done their top rated (and clearly worst rated) cities in multiple areas for the past 8 years. Food, culture and looks are just a few of the categories and this year really stings. Why? Because they rated Sacramento the 2nd ugliest city in the nation. IN THE NATION?

Okay excuse me, the magazine’s employee’s itself didn’t rate us this terrible rating, the 50,000 readers who cast their votes did. I wonder if all 50,000 readers traveled here to really study the subject before they bubbled in “Sacramento” on the ballot. Or did they just do what I did in school, filled in the “C” bubble because that was always more likely to be correct. There’s only one city that is apparently uglier than us and that’s Baltimore, Maryland. I haven’t been there but I am personally offended for them because I know how it feels. Here’s what the website had to say about our “ugly population”….

“Sacramentans don’t earn high marks for their looks, but readers did give them an A for effort. They received a perfect score for being active, which is easy to do in California’s state capital, just two hours from Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. Closer to home, Discovery Park, north of downtown, has 275 acres of riverfront forest and recreation fields. Sacramento also nabbed a perfect score for its café culture. Find the best brews in town at one of several Temple Coffee Roasters locations—the local chain has become a mini-empire of community gathering places.”

Did that really say an “A for effort”? That little blurb basically says “you guys workout and have some great coffee shops but I’d rather not look at you.” Cool, that’s not offensive at all.
