That’s according to the story that she shared on an online message board for moms.
A woman was at her office, just 6 months pregnant, having a chat with a colleague in the copy room. It was simple chit-chat and small-talk. When her co-worker asked how everything was going, she said all was well, and mentioned that she had been invited to a work event the next week – a really prestigious event. That’s all the details she really gave about the event, no specifics, but it sounds like it’s an important event, and only a select few were invited.
Her co-worker’s response? “…you’re going to go?” The expecting mom replied “Sure, why?”
“Well, you’re pregnant. Won’t it look a bit unprofessional?”
Is pregnancy really that taboo, that women who are pregnant should just hide away somewhere until they’re “back to normal?” Ugh! Ridiculous!
One commenter on her story says they can’t understand how pregnancy is unprofessional “unless you’re a nun.”
