A hacker released the upcoming season of “Orange Is The New Black” after Netflix didn’t agree to their ransom terms. They are also going after other major networks threatening to do the same.
According to NY Times, the hacker got the footage from the post production company, Larson Studios when their security was breached. The hacker who goes by “TheDarkOverlord” suggested on Twitter that other networks would have their shows would be released yet it’s unclear if they are also requesting some form of payment to stop that from happening like they did with Netflix.
Netflix issued a statement and said, “We are aware of the situation. A production vendor used by several major TV studios had its security compromised and the appropriate law enforcement authorities are involved.”
No word if the release date of season 5 of OITNB will be moved up from it’s original June 9th release date.
