Emma Watson Wins First Ever Gender Neutral Award [VIDEO]

The award was for “Best Actor in a Movie,” and it was for Emma Watson’s role in the new “Beauty and the Beast.” She gave a pretty impactful speech after accepting the award, praising MTV for creating the award, saying “MTV’s move to create a genderless award for acting will mean something different to everyone. But to me it indicates that acting is about the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes and that doesn’t need to be separated into two different categories (male and female).”

She also went on to say that she enjoyed playing the part of Belle, who was swayed by the villagers (in the story) to believe the world was small and there was nothing out there for her, but who refused to believe them. Emma also said that it was the Character, Belle, who was the true winner of the award.

Check out the video of her speech here.

Congratulations to Emma for the win, and for making history!
