Happy National Eat What You Want Day! We plan on taking full advantage of the holiday and we know we’re not alone. We wanted to help out our fellow foodies by making a list of the best new restaurants in Sacramento that you should treat yourself to today, with the help of Eater. Try one, or all of them!
805 15th St., Sacramento, CA 95814
Chando’s started as a small walk-up stand, but was such a hit among locals that it expanded. The tacos are amazing and the bar is open until 3 am, rather than 2 am like most Sacramento bars.
1028 7th St., Sacramento, CA 95814
This new restaurant is right next to the Golden 1 Center, which is really convenient on game days. It gives you a taste of the South, through the food and the decor. Their BBQ egg rolls are a must try!
3. The Jungle Bird:
2516 J St., Sacramento, CA 95816
The second you walk into this restaurant, you feel like you just stepped off a plane into Hawaii. The Tiki bar has island inspired food and drinks. You can get a tropical cocktail in a giant pineapple cup, or pork sisig tacos. It’s hard to have a meal or a drink there without posting pictures of the decor on social media!
4. Uptown Pizza:
1431 Del Paso Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95815
Watch the big game on T.V. while enjoying a pizza and a nice, cold beer at Uptown Pizza. If you don’t want to watch the game, you’re welcome to sit outside in their large porch area, which has a homey feel to it with a fountain and a fire pit.
5. Wild Flour Cafe:
1430 14th St., Sacramento, CA 95814
If you want to treat yourself on National Eat What You Want Day, but don’t want to get too crazy, this is the choice for you. This restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, with a menu made of local and seasonal ingredients. They are even waste conscious, so you’re helping the environment by eating there!
