Oxygen Announced Plans To Air 8 True Crime Shows, One Hosted By Ice T

I don’t know if it’s just my group of friends and I but true crime shows, podcasts, documentaries have been all the rage this year.

I am obsessed with hearing about new ones that are airing that I haven’t heard about. If you feel the same, can’t get enough true crime, you’re in luck. Oxygen announced that they are basically turning into a true crime network this summer. They are planning to air 8 new true crime shows, one that will be hosted by Ice T which seems appropriate with his long running career on Law And Order SVU. Here’s a taste of what we can expect….

  • “What Happened to…Jessica Chambers?” (working title): This active crime investigation docu-series takes a deep dive into the mysterious death of Jessica Chambers, the Mississippi teen who was doused with gasoline and set on fire in December of 2014.
  • “Mysteries and Scandals”: Hosted and executive produced by multiple Emmy and Peabody Award winner Soledad O’Brien, this new true crime series investigates Hollywood’s most intriguing criminals, murders and cases of corruption, exploring infamous headlines that captured the nation’s attention using archival footage, new interviews and stylized depictions of past events.
  • “Final Appeal”: Brian Banks was a star football player with NFL aspirations before he was wrongfully convicted. He spent five years behind bars until he was fully exonerated a decade later. The series will follow Brian and former prosecutor, Loni Coombs, as they try to figure out what went wrong.
  • “Ice Cold Murder” (working title): Hosted by Ice-T, this series exposes outrageous tales and shocking true stories involving sex, money, murder and sometimes all three.
  • “Criminal Confessions”: This series will take a look at real criminal cases and how officers ultimately got the confessions then needed.
  • “The Disappearance of”: A multi-part documentaries that dive headfirst into  unexplored leads, missing evidence and suspicion surrounding the most puzzling cases of young women who have gone missing. The first two cases in the franchise Natalee Holloway and Maura Murray.
  • “Patricia Cornwell’s True Conviction” (Working title): Best selling author Patricia Cornwell has assembled an all-star team of world-class experts in the fields of psychology, forensics, and clinical pathology. Together, they will apply their collective knowledge toward a real life case.
  • “The Price of Duty” (Working title): The show will look into how certain cases have forever changed the investigators that took them on.
