By 2020 You Won’t Be Able To Use Your California ID To Fly

This is weird because I just got my birth certificate and social security card from my dad yesterday, before I even read this article.

Do you know where your birth certificate is? How about your social security card? You might want to think about digging those out or getting a certified copy before October 2020. The Real ID Act means your California ID and Drivers License won’t be considered a federally compliant form of ID to fly. Flying with a passport will still be allowed (although some major security changes will be made with those as well) and driving with a drivers license is still OK, we are just talking about flying with your state drivers license here.
