He’s setting and breaking tons of records with his new album, and now Ed Sheeran can add another plaque to his wall.
Ed’s single “Shape of You” has just broken the record for most time spent in the top-5 on the Billboard-100 chart. Justin Bieber held the record previously with “Sorry,” which was in the top-5 for 19 weeks. Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” has just finished up with 20 weeks in the top-5, after launching at #1.
Only 3 songs behind those have spent their first 17 weeks in the top-5, and those are Maroon 5’s “Payphone,” Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling,” and Boyz II Men/Mariah Carey’s “One Sweet Day.”
Some of the other records Ed has broken? Most streamed song on the first day of launch, having two new singles in the top-10 in both the US and the UK, and a stack of others. Check those out here.
