It sort of makes sense when you think about it, but the more sleep that somebody gets, the more likely that person is to be more sexually active, or even have a higher drive and better quality sex.
Found typically with women over 50, those who received less than 7 hours of sleep per night reported having much less sex than those who reported more than 7 hours of sleep.
But the same applies to other ages too. Another study focussed on college-aged people, and found the same. For those who are in romantic relationships, an extra hour of sleep was found to have about a 14% increase in having sex the following day. They also found that natural lubrication and sexual desire all increased too.
There was a link between sleeping disorders and various sexual dysfunctions too, noting that some men who suffer from sleep apnea also suffer from sexual dysfunction, and their theory is that because those men produce less testosterone.
