Daryl Mutz doesn’t have kids and is a huge animal lover so when he passed away one lucky shelter got a huge surprise.
New Westminster Animal Shelter in British Columbia received a check in the amount of $275,000 from Mutz. He had left it to them in his will but he had never even visited the shelter. He heard about the no kill shelter from a friend and wanted them to have the money he was leaving behind but he was very specific with what he wanted done with the money.
According to US Magazine, $115,000 was supposed to go to “animal enrichment”. In other words toys, treats and obedience training. $55,000 was supposed to go towards animals needing an excessive amount of veterinary card and the remaining $55,000 to help low income pet owners with vet bills and also to fund a program to neuter feral cats.
The shelter said they are blown away by the donation because even $1,000 is considered a huge amount to be donated.
