You know those red & glass toy vending machines in every restaurant ever that have those brightly-colored bouncy balls and sticky hands in them? One child found the machine that gives out cocaine at a taqueria in Los Altos, CA.
The family was out to eat, when a boy wanted a toy from the vending machine. He dropped in a quarter, and got a toy putty ball. The ball ruptured while he was playing with it, and out fell a white powder. The powder was confirmed to be cocaine after the mother called the police on her son’s broken toy. After looking at the machine, authorities found a total of 4.8 ounces of cocaine.
After contacting the company that maintains the machine, the machines are being removed from other restaurants and businesses in the area.
