Endlessly running around town with the kids, school, practice, shopping, more practice, friends’ houses.. I feel bad for my parents when I look back now.
Have you ever wondered while sitting between red lights what sort of income you could make if you charged your kids the same way Taxis and Uber charge us?
On average, running kids around will use about an hour and 40 minutes of time, which works out to about $70 per week. $17 per day to further break that down. If you’re thinking “that sounds low,” that’s sort of what we thought too, but remember, that’s average, and probably includes those families who don’t have to travel much mixed with other families who do. So we wouldn’t be surprised if you would actually make twice or more that amount.
The other twist, mom’s seem to travel more miles per day on average, but dads somehow get longer “shifts,” despite less miles driven. Interesting.
Also, there’s a funny website-based “app” that let’s you track time and miles, called “Dad Taxi.”
