The Coca-Cola Beauty Trend That Sounds Weird Is Dangerous

Coca-Cola is one of the most popular sodas ever, and you can get one pretty much anywhere. It’s useful for a lot of things, like cooking. Use it to glaze a ham, flavor tacos, burgers, all sorts of uses. We’ve heard it can clean a toilet, and even remove blood from a roadway, morbid as that sounds.

The newest discovery is use as a self-tanner. People are seriously using the cola to get a tan. It contains caramel dye, and that will actually give your skin a darker, more bronzed tone. We’re thinking that it basically dyes/stains your skin.

The problem with splashing soda all over yourself though, says one doctor, is that soda is acidic. It will exfoliate dead skin cells. “That sounds like a good thing though,” you may be thinking. Problem is, without the dead skin cells, the UV rays from the sun can actually cause more damage to your skin. That increases your chance for sun burn, before you even realize it.
