Bruno Mars took to YouTube yesterday to release some rehearsal video from this year’s Grammys. It shows him and his band & dancers practicing his Prince tribute that aired during the 59th Grammys Award Show. Check it out right here.
The description on the video says “33 years ago this Sunday, Prince and his band, The Revolution, released Purple Rain, one of the most important albums of all time. To celebrate the anniversary weekend, here’s a behind the scenes look of us rehearsing for the tribute we did at the 59th Grammy Awards.”
It starts out quiet, but it suddenly builds some intense high energy and goes full-on show, despite the early (or late?) time of night they were working on it, according to the timestamp on the video. Makes you wonder just how many hours and work go into these shows and performances. And it’s pretty cool to see a different version, from a different perspective.
