At some point in our lives our parents have told us “no”. Whether it was to them buying us something or spending the night at a friends house, we’ve all heard the word.
In the case of 10 year old Leon Ashworth, he heard the word “no” because his mother couldn’t afford the stuffed animal he so desperately wanted. The stuffed panda bear that Leon named “Pandy” was up at the register with him at a store in England when his mother told him he had to put it back because she couldn’t afford it that day but they would come back for it after she got paid.
The boy put Pandy back in the box and put the box back on the shelf but not before writing a note on the box. The note read,
“My mum didn’t have enough money to buy me Pandy, so she’s buying me Pandy on June 15. So please don’t buy him as it will make me sad and I will cry. Thank you so much from hopeful future owner.”
Heart currently melting. Staff members from the store saw the note on the box and chipped in to buy Pandy. They posted the box and bear on Facebook to try and track down Leon and his mom. His Mom, Debbie saw the Facebook post and didn’t click on it until she realized that was the same bear Leon had been carrying around the store. She said Leon was in tears when he found out what the staff had done.
