A longtime favorite of many Target shopper, Mossimo, Merona, Circo, and a few other store staple-brands are going away, making room for a new look.
The weird part of the story is that, according to Target’s press release, they know that the brands are doing well, “even in a difficult market.” Despite that, they’re getting the axe in favor of a few newer, more unique, and likely trendy line of clothing.
Target says they talked to their customers and determined that we apparently want items that “create a unique personality and own-able, differentiated point of view.” Whatever that means. 4 of the 12 new brands include “A New Day,” which will be a women’s clothing line, a guy’s line called “Goodfellow & Co,” a workout clothing line called “JoyLab,” and “Project 62,” which will be their new decor line. No word on when these brands will hit shelves, but if you constantly find yourself buying that one Mossimo tank top over and over, you better stock up now.
