It’s been legal in Nevada for about a week now, and already, Las Vegas has almost used up all of the available marijuana from their dispensaries.
In that week, there has been about $3 million worth in sales to people lined up at dispensaries around town, customers usually wrapped around the building waiting their turn to even enter the shops. That $3 million has generated about $1 million in tax revenue, which, so far, is ahead of schedule for the senator’s estimates of $60 million in the next two years.
Anyway, the Governor endorsed a “statement of emergency” that will allow distributors to get approved, so the shelves can be re-stocked. Basically, “they need more marijuana and they need it fast,” says the article. But they’re worried that, even with the approval, the overall “crop” is running low anyway.
What a weird problem to have and talk about.
