If you tuned in last night to watch the seventh season premiere of Game of Thrones, you were definitely not alone.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the show had a series high viewership of 10.1 million live viewers! This is a big jump from the previous record holder, the final episode of the sixth season, which only had 8.9 million viewers.
However, the 10.1 million viewers doesn’t include online streaming. Adding in an additional 6 million online viewers, the grand total for the premiere was 16.1 million!
When you compare that with the series beginning (the series’ first episode had 2.22 million viewers), it’s clear that Game of Thrones has come a long way, and its popularity doesn’t appear to be slowing down!
