Was it the scorching heat or something else that kept all of those people away?
Bizjournals.com says that the California State Fair saw 38,372 fewer attendees this year than it did last year and that food sales and carnival ride sales dipped, too.

“Food and carnival ride sales declined by $1.4 million to $12.7 million this year. Food sales alone declined by 9 percent to $8.5 million this year.”
This year we’ve had one of the hottest July’s in 10 years, so did the scorching heat keep people away from the Fair?
