What the heck is a liquid nose job? Besides laughing while drinking something, a liquid nose job is a type of plastic surgery, only without the surgery. Why are they on the rise? Selfies. People are so obsessed with taking selfies these days that they’re trying to look their best, so they’re getting the injections.
In a liquid nose job, also called a nonsurgical rhinoplasty, the doctor uses an injectable filler that can shape the nose, adding shape, contour, or volume. One plastic surgeon says that she was only performing one or two of them a month a few years ago, but now is doing 30 or 40 per month. The cost of the injections has also come down a little bit in the past couple years (they’re around $800 each), making them easier to access.
Another plastic surgeon says that the whole idea of injections has changed with the times as well – “the idea of getting injections is like getting your brows done – the guilt about that has changed so much.”
Would you ever consider a liquid nose job? Do you post a lot of selfies?
