Prince’s Sound Engineer Says He Owns Rights To Unheard Prince Music

Prince had a collection of unreleased music. Like, a serious collection. About 5 albums worth of music that only a few people have heard. That’s what the reports say, anyway.

Prince’s estate has also been in and out of court, with people claiming to be related to the singer, trying to get their hands on the music, and the money. But it turns out that, according to Prince’s sound engineer George Boxill, that Prince actually gave him the master recordings and the rights to many of the songs that have already been published. He even has co-writing credit for a lot of them.

Things just got really interesting.

George Boxill also made an offer of about $10M for the rest of Prince’s collection, according to some sources. That offer was turned down, but he still might have some leverage, considering he owns a lot of the collection already.

This is going to be a long battle, but we’re curious to see the outcome, and we definitely want to hear that unreleased music soon!
