This is a kind of cool story, but a little scary too, considering, well, what if it didn’t work? We’re glad it did work out, and everybody is ok. This is also a great reminder to have your kids trained in CPR, or at least know what to do to save someone from drowning if you have a pool, or frequent anywhere there’s water.
Jacob is just 10 years old, but when he found his two-year-old brother floating in the pool face-down, he remembered a scene from the movie “San Andreas.” You know, that movie with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, based here in NorCal about an earthquake that destroys Los Angeles and San Francisco. Well anyway, there’s a scene in the movie where The Rock rescues someone from drowning, and he performs CPR, complete with chest compressions and everything.
Here’s the scene from the movie:
That’s exactly how Jacob learned CRP – from watching that scene in the movie. He happened to remember it, and was able to pull his brother from the water, performed CPR, and saved his brother’s life!
Dwayne even retweeted the story when he heard about it:
