Once I heard that Chipotle had queso, I went in immediately. Went through the line and got my standard burrito bowl, got to the end and asked for a side of chips and queso. Turns out it was only being tested in select stores and I wasted a gym day on a trip to Chipotle just to try the cheese.
Chipotle was only testing the queso at select locations and luckily it was a hit. So much so, that it will be released at every location next week. September 12th to be exact so mark your calendars. According to Eater, if you are adding it to an entrée it’ll be around $1.25 and a big side of it is around $5.25 which is expensive but make no mistake, I’ll pay for it.
Chipotle had received a ton of requests for queso over the years but wanted to stay true to their high quality ingredients so waited until they could find a way to make it that way. Their queso has 23 ingredients including aged cheddar and milk instead of faux cheese that most restaurants use. Get those chips ready, you can start dipping on Tuesday.
