When a bus driver told the kids on his bus that a water main had broken at the school and that classes had been canceled, they went wild… until a couple of them figure out that it was April 1st! lol

Madonna Keeps A Close Eye On Teenage Daughter Dating

Madonna’s 16-year-old daughter Lourdes is dating HS classmate and Homeland actor Timothee Chalamet, and while mom has been strict on the subject of dating, she finally agreed to let Lourdes go on a date without parental supervision, but there was one minor catch.

To keep a close eye on Lourdes at all times, Madonna sent a bodyguard/chaperone according to the NY Post. While the teenagers dined at Brother Jimmy’s BBQ over the weekend, the bodyguard sat nearby and reportedly never took his eyes off of them.

One eyewitness said “They were leaning close together to talk before food came. He was making her laugh a lot.”

Timothee was also seen reaching for Lourdes’ hands as they flirted.

After dinner, the teenagers split the $51 bill before the bodyguard accompanied them both to their chauffeured car.

While Madonna may not feel 100% comfortable at the idea of her daughter being completely alone with her boyfriend, she did previously tell Extra her daughter “has a very nice boyfriend.”

Despite No New Music, One Direction Aims To Rule Summer With Book, 3-D Film & Tour

This summer is proving to be a big one for One Direction. First the boys are headed back to America in June for their Take Me Home Tour, then, in addition to their 3-D film This Is Us, they’ll be releasing a new book.

Titled One Direction: Where We Are: Our Band, Our Story, their book will be released on August 27, just days before their film hits theaters. Yesterday (May 21) the band released the book cover to fans via Twitter and the 1D newsletter.

The only official book from the band, Where We Are: Our Band, Our Story, follows their journey throughout the past year and a half. It includes their “thoughts and feelings, hopes and dreams, highs and lows.”

The film, due out August 30, promises to also give a behind the scenes look of the band, as the video trailers show the band backstage, on tour and during music video and photo shoots as well as showcasing their practical joke side.

If you are looking for something fun to do this Memorial Day weekend that doesn’t involve barbequing, you’ve come to the right place. Sacramento has several fun events to honor veterans this Memorial Day that are great for kids, families or just adults.

Check out a few of our favorites here:

1. Sacramento County Fair: Thursday, May 23 – Monday, May 27

For just $5, you can visit the Sacramento County Fair at Cal Expo, and if you have little ones, they get in for FREE! For you money savers out there, if you visit Friday night, you can take advantage of their dollar menu food items! More details available here.

2. Vets for Vettes: Sunday, May 26

This FREE event features classic Corvettes that will be displayed behind the California Automobile Museum on Sunday only. There will be music, food and a raffle. Entry into the museum is only free to veterans and additional information is available here.

3. Great American Hot Dog Picnic Concert: Monday, May 27

Love hot dogs, music and magic? This event might be perfect for you and your family because it includes all three! It’s $15 for adults and children are FREE. More details here.

4. 2nd Annual Torch Fest: Saturday, May 25 – Sunday, May 26

This two-day event on Saturday and Sunday is for adults only—you must be at least 21 years old. Tickets are $15 and there will be over 10 bands each day, and of course, booze! For more event info, click here.

5. Sacramento Musical Festival: Friday, May 24 – Monday, May 27

This four-day event kicks off Friday night with live music all weekend long. A special Memorial Day Parade will take place at 10:00am on Saturday and kids under 12 get in for FREE! For adults, this one will cost you $39, but it could be with the extra green. Get more details on this festival here.

6. Jazz-Related Activities at the California State Railroad Museum, Old Sacramento: Friday, May 24 – Monday, May 27

Jazz it up at the California State Railroad Museum all weekend long. Take in some smooth jazz and even ride a train with your kids! Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Additional details here.

7. Wounded Veteran Run: Monday, May 27

Honor all of those who have served and help veterans in need by participating in this run. To run in the 3K a $25 donation is required and to run the 5K or 10K, a $30 donation is required. 8. Hornblower Memorial Day River Cruise: Monday, May 27

All aboard! On Monday, grab your friends or fam and check out the Hornblower! This one hour voyage will cruise the Sacramento River while informing you about the history of Sacramento. Cost is $20 per person. More info available here.

The event features a 3K, 5K and 10K run/walk along with a ½-mile Kids Fun Run – all to raise funds in for programs and service that support service members injured while bravely serving our country. Backstreet’s Back: Charli XCX Covers ‘I Want It That Way’

Charli XCX is not embarrassed to admit she’s obsessed with the Backstreet Boys. In fact, she loves them so much she even tackled BSB’s 1999 monster pop hit, “I Want It That Way,” for the first time at a show in Chicago yesterday (May 21).

With help from a keyboard and a drum machine, Charli made the song all her own giving it the same synth-pop feel of her recently released full-length debut, True Romance. She slowed things down and took a darker approach to the love song, making lines like “But we are two worlds apart/Can’t reach to your heart” sound much more desperate and heartbroken than BSB ever did.

But the writer of Icona Pop’s “I Love It,” who described herself to Radio.com as “Wednesday Addams meets Winona Ryder in Beetlejuice meets Baby Spice,” kept things fun. She whispered lines of the chorus, handled the five-part harmony all on her own, and even threw in a little giggle before launching into Nick Carter’s epic solo. She then ended her rendition with a very sincere shout-out, “Big up to the Backstreet Boys.”

Rihanna’s ‘Styled To Rock’ Inches Closer Toward U.S. Premiere

Rihanna is importing her U.K. reality TV show to the U.S., in conjunction with the Style Network. The show’s first cycle aired abroad but for the second season, Rihanna’s American fans can join in on the fashion fun.

Styled To Rock is a Project Runway-esque show produced by Rihanna, where a group of contestants create original looks. The U.K. series featured a chance for the winner to outfit Rihanna in concert, but no clear prize has been attached to the U.S. show yet.

The reality competition also offers its contestant mentors. Pharrell has signed on for the U.S. version, along with Victoria’s Secret model/designer Erin Wasson.

Kellie Pickler Wins ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Country music is cleaning up this week on reality TV competitions. This past Sunday, Trace Adkins won All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. And last night (May 21), singer Kellie Pickler took top honors on season 16 of Dancing with the Stars.

Pickler shared her win with her professional dance partner Derek Hough. During Tuesday night’s finale, they were competing against Disney Channel star Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy.

When season 16 began, Kellie was one of two country artists on the program. Fellow dancer Wynonna Judd, though, was voted off in April.

Other stars competing this season included actor Andy Dick, figure skating champ Dorothy Hamill, football star Jacoby Jones, and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman.
